Make A Splash!

The SRC has a 237,000-gallon pool and 20-person spa available for your aquatic adventures. The pool contains a lap swim area, recreational swim area and a vortex/current channel. It is available for lap swimming, recreational swimming, programming and rentals. A large deck with furniture is also available for those that would like to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. 

Can you swim the distance? Swim your way through our Spring quarter challenge. Each challenge completed qualifies you for an exclusive prize. Available to SRC Members only. Ask an aquatics team member for more information.

  • Beginner’s Challenge: SRC to the Big “C” - Swim the distance from the SRC to the big “C” hike and back, totaling 4 miles.
  • Intermediate Challenge: Half Marathon - Swim the distance of a half marathon totaling 13.1 miles
  • Advanced Challenge: Full Marathon - Swim the distance of a full marathon totaling 26.2 miles.

Log Rolling is a low impact fitness activity with high rewards. Stepping back and forth on a spinning Log improves balance, footwork, core strength, and cardiovascular endurance. Aquatics staff will be on hand to teach participants the basics of Log Rolling and help get you started.

Aqua Bootcamp blends cardio conditioning, strength/balance exercises and core training in a bootcamp style format. This high intensity workout combines in and out of water exercises.

Free to UCR Students and SRC Members, Others $20.

Join us for open stand up paddleboarding (SUP) time in the SRC South Pool. Limited paddleboards will be available for use in the pool. An instructor will also be available to help participants learn the basics.


OCTOBER 4 - NOVEMBER 15
Wednesdays, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Free to UCR Students and SRC Members.

Join us for family fun night in collaboration with Cooking Well. Children’s pool activities will be held from 2:00pm - 4:00pm followed by a hands on cooking class with Chef Val from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Parents and children must register at the front counter of the SRC. Limited to 40 people total. 1 adult per 1-2 children.

Welcome back Highlanders! Join the SRC and ASPB for a welcome back pool party. Free food, music, and activities. A UCR ID card is required for entry.

Dive into our kids floating pumpkin patch at the SRC Pool! Contests and activities for all ages. A UCR ID card is required for entry.

Take a break from final exam prep and join us for poolside stress relief. Free food by Chef Val, music, and activities. A UCR ID card is required for entry.

Private lessons provide participants with the opportunity to learn at his/her own pace and can be adapted for all abilities. Set the time to meet your schedule and our instructor will work to meet your swimming goals. SRC Aquatics staff will contact you to arrange your private lessons, after you’ve registered at the SRC front counter. Private lessons are 30 minute one-on-one sessions scheduled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Participants may add a second person to create a semi-private lesson. Available to SRC Members only.

We offer a variety of waterproof workouts to meet individual needs and goals. This program allows you to swim your way into shape on your own time. See an SRC Aquatics Staff Member to get a waterproof workout for your next swim!

Beginner Swim

Beginner Swim Lessons

OCTOBER 17 - NOVEMBER 9
These lessons are for adults with little or no comfort in the water. Participants will learn how to hold their breath, float, get an introduction to the basic strokes and learn basic water safety skills.

Intermediate Swim

Intermediate Swim Lessons

OCTOBER 17 - NOVEMBER 9
These lessons are for adults that have completed Adult Beginner or have equivalent skills. Participants will continue stroke development in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke and improve their water fitness and stamina.

Beginner Swim

American Red Cross Lifeguarding

OCTOBER 21, 22 and 28
Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you’ll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding.
