Experience UCR’s Mobile Rock Wall

The UC Riverside Outdoor Excursions Mobile Climbing Wall will make a great

centerpiece for your next event. Our wall is an impressive 25-foot tall structure that looks and feels like real rock. It can handle up to five rock climbers at a time with its state-of-the-art auto belay system. We have conducted programs all over Southern California and the Inland Empire including Riverside, Moreno Valley, Corona, Norco, San Bernardino, Oceanside, Manhattan Beach, Huntington Beach, Blue Jay, Redlands, Redondo Beach, Del Mar, Hemet and Woodland Hills.

Mobile Rock Wall Rates

• General Public: $160 per hour
• Non-Profit Organizations: $120 per hour
• UCR Student Organizations: $80 per hour
• $1.50 charge per one-way mile outside Riverside
• All rentals are for a minimum of 2 hours
• Price includes the mobile rock wall, staff, and all safety equipment

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

How much space does the wall need in order to be set up?

The Rock wall is 27' long and 8' wide and is towed by a full size truck or van. Once in place, the tow vehicle is removed and the wall set up is 18' long and 8' wide. We also need a clear area (6'-8') in front of the wall for the climbers to land as they are lowered. The rock wall site needs to be level (less than a 3% slope).

How long does it take to set up the wall?

It takes about 15 minutes to set up, once we drive it into place.

How much do you have to weigh to climb?

Climbers must weigh between 45 and 250 pounds.

How old do you have to be to climb?

We have no age restrictions for climbing our wall as long as you meet the weight restrictions.

How far from Riverside do you travel?

We will travel up to 200 miles from Riverside. If your event is farther than that, please contact us and we will see if we can work something out.

Are you Insured?

Yes. Our wall is a program of the University of California, Riverside and we are fully insured. Proof of insurance and workers' comprehensive coverage are available upon request.

How far in advance should I make a reservation?

We currently accept reservations up to 1 year in advance, and some popular dates go fast. Please book as early as possible to secure your date. Reservations more than 14 days in advance are appreciated for staffing purposes, but fewer than 14 days may be possible.
