Get to Know the Recreation Facilities Governing Board

The Recreation Facilities Governing Board is an advisory board to the Chancellor and is comprised of six undergraduate and three graduate students. The board is charged with oversight of operational policies and approval of the annual budget and facility usage fees.

Its other responsibilities include representing student concerns, issues and ideas to the Recreation Department administration and to serve as a liaison to ASUCR and GSA on matters relevant to campus recreation.

Will Agnew-Svoboda

Major and student status: Neuroscience, Grad Student

Who or what inspires you: My brilliant partner, and my wonderful family.

Why do you like about the SRC: The immense variety of offerings, ranging from indoor climbing walls to the outdoor excursions.

Major and student status: Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program, Grad Student

Who or what inspires you: Music constantly inspires me.

Why do you like about the SRC: The wide variety of activities available any given day at the SRC. From yoga to strength training to even ping-pong, there is something for everyone that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Who or what inspires you: My hardworking, ambitious mother inspires me.

Why do you like about the SRC: The variety of activities and opportunities the SRC has to offer is what I appreciate the most.

Who or what inspires you: Hard work inspires me, especially people like Bill Gates and David Geffen.

Major and student status: Biology, Undergraduate Student

Who or what inspires you: My mama inspires me most! She has gone through quite a lot of hardship throughout her life and has always been able to manage to keep a calm demeanor. I definitely aspire to be as strong, sassy, and classy as she.

Why do you like about the SRC: The variety of equipment and classes that are offered and available to me. However, the lap pool is my favorite part of the SRC.

Major and student status: Business Administration - Finance, Undergraduate Student

Who or what inspires you: I am inspired by taking on different challenges and overcoming these challenges through hard work and determination. Overcoming challenges that may seem impossible at first inspires me to never give up.

Why do you like about the SRC: The aspect I like most about the SRC are the Intramural Sports and all the various workout machines it has to offer here for all the students. It gives every student a chance to see what they like and what fits them personally when going through a workout.

Who or what inspires you: People who are able to stay positive throughout their lives despite having obstacles and constant rejections.

Why do you like about the SRC: I love the environment because it is a place where students not only exercise, but also socialize. Its a great place to bond with other students. I also love how clean the equipment is.
