WROLC

The University of California Riverside's Recreation department is excited to host the 2020 Western Regional Outdoor Leadership Conference (WROLC)! This 3 day conference will be January 17-19, 2020 in the Student Recreation Center at UCR.

Welcome to UC Riverside! UCR is excited and honored to host the 27th Western Regional Outdoor Leadership Conference (WROLC).

WROLC is an annual collaboration of university outdoor programs in the west that began in 1991. The conference is regularly attended by university outdoor programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and beyond.

The theme of WROLC 2020 is Empowered by Nature. We believe that contact with nature leads to improved mental health, lower stress levels, and enhanced cognitive skills. This theme encompasses the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion of both current and future generations, for all. Working within the theme of diversity, WROLC will provide all participants an opportunity to develop leadership skills, deepen our knowledge of outdoor and experiential education, develop partnerships, and expand our programs’ capacities at the regional level. And, of course, it will be fun!

THE ULTIMATE OUTDOOR CONFERENCE

WROLC was created on the principles of providing an inexpensive, professional level conference where students can develop beneficial skills and relationships for current and future careers in experiential education or the outdoor industry.
